About:

Christene Murphy is a highly trained and experienced psychoanalyst who has undergone extensive training and education in the field of psychoanalysis. She is a classically trained Freudian psychoanalyst with a Master of Social Work from Fordham University, which she obtained in September 1991. In addition, she holds a certificate in psychoanalysis and psychotherapy from the Training Institute for Mental Health, which she received on June 17, 1997. She also holds a certificate in the supervision of the psychotherapeutic process, which she obtained on June 29, 1999.

Christene's work in the field of psychoanalysis is multifaceted and includes teaching seminars on psychoanalytic concepts of technique and adult stages of development at the Training Institute for Mental Health. She also provides psychoanalytic supervision to candidates in training, helping them to develop the skills and knowledge needed to become effective psychoanalytic practitioners. In addition, she serves as a representative of the Candidate Committee of The Council of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists, N.YC. Chapter, and as President of The Psychotherapists Council, Training Institute for Mental Health.

Christene's approach to psychoanalysis is psychodynamic in nature. She works closely with her patients, asking questions and exploring their past experiences and how they have influenced their current situation. She believes that education is an essential part of the therapy process and strives to keep her patients informed and empowered throughout their journey. Her patients come from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures, including Hispanic individuals from North and South America. Christene Murphy has extensive experience working with senior-level executives in major corporations to help them manage work-life balance and reduce stress. Corporate jobs can be demanding, and individuals in leadership positions often have to juggle multiple responsibilities, such as managing teams, meeting deadlines, and balancing competing priorities. This can lead to burnout, anxiety, and other mental health concerns that can affect both personal and professional life.

She helps her patients explore their personal values and goals, identify sources of stress and tension, and develop coping mechanisms to manage them. Christene also focuses on helping executives set boundaries between work and personal life, prioritize self-care, and create sustainable work habits that promote well-being.

Christene's office is located in the East Village, NYC, and she is available for in-person sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
